The World Mysteries: Mysteries of Eleusis

This work was directed by Vasilios Kallitsis. It was inspired by the Mysteries of Eleusis and was performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), in Brooklyn, NY.

It was first initiated as a pilot at La Scarzuola (Umbria, Italy).

It is a synthetic performance fusing theatrical traditions such as Kathakali (India), Chinese Opera (China), Noh Theatre (Japan), Flamenco (Spain), Greek Drama, etc. A mystical operatic composition using texts by Plato, Homer, Aeschylus, Euripides, Plutarch, Pythagoras, The Vedas, The Hermetics, among others.
